Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Eligibility Advisor I in Lubbock to assist Texans with SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and other programs. This temporary role offers paid training, a supportive team, and opportunities to impact lives while gaining experience in public assistance eligibility.

The position requires strong communication, data entry, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 60 sem/90 quarter hours from accredited college preferred.
• Experience in customer service or public contact is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients to determine financial eligibility.
• Enter information into computer-based eligibility systems.
• Compute and authorize benefits per eligibility determinations.
• Follow state and federal regulations and procedures.
