Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Brady, TX is seeking an Eligibility Advisor I - Temporary to determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and related programs. This temporary role includes paid training and potential transfer to a regular position.

The position requires strong data entry, the ability to explain regulations, and excellent communication. Telework may be available; travel up to 10% may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to learn regulations and apply policy details.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to collect financial and personal information for eligibility.
• Evaluate data from multiple sources and enter it into the eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work per state/federal regulations and established procedures.
