Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a temporary Eligibility Advisor I in Anson, TX. The role focuses on determining financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid programs and related services. Training is provided; remote work is possible for some tasks.

The position requires strong customer service, data entry, and ability to navigate regulations. You will join a fast-paced team delivering essential support to Texans in need.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Experience in interviewing clients and gathering personal information is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data to enter information into an eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determination.
• Process work in accordance with regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
