Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Access and Eligibility Services (AES) seeks a temporary Eligibility Advisor I in Brownwood, TX. The role supports SNAP, TANF, Medicaid programs and other benefits, with paid training and a path to regular positions.

The position is temporary through 08/31/2027, with potential transfer to a regular role based on performance. Overtime and weekend work may be required; telework eligibility is possible depending on needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 sem/90 quarter hours preferred.
• Customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants in person or by phone to determine eligibility.
• Evaluate data from various sources to enter into eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility.
• Follow procedures per regulations and timelines.
