Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Access and Eligibility Services (AES) division seeks a motivated Eligibility Advisor I for a temporary role in Wichita Falls, TX.

You will conduct interviews, determine eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid, and enter data into eligibility systems while adhering to regulations. This role offers paid training and potential transfer to a regular status vacancy, with telework options possible for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours preferred.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients in person or by telephone to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data from various sources to enter information into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work in accordance with state and federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
