Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Access and Eligibility Services (AES) division seeks an Eligibility Advisor I in Brownwood to determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and related programs.

This temporary role requires interviewing applicants, entering data, and computing benefits in a regulated environment. You will use MS Teams, Office tools, and strong communication to deliver efficient customer service to Texans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 60 college hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact required or substituted hours.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data from electronic sources to enter information into an eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determination.
• Process work per state and federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
