Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is hiring an Eligibility Advisor I in Seminole, TX, to determine eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid. This temporary position supports AES with fast-paced, client-focused service using MS Teams and standard office software.

The role requires strong communication, data entry, and regulatory knowledge, with opportunities to transfer to a regular position based on performance and availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact is required; substitution allowed.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients in person or by calls to determine financial eligibility.
• Evaluate data from various sources to enter information into eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility.
• Process work per state regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
