Job summary

TK Elevator is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for New Installation/Modernization in Detroit, MI. You will oversee all installation and modernization operations, lead field teams, ensure profitability, and drive adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will coordinate with owners, contractors and engineers, manage bids and change orders, and maintain compliance with industry codes while steering projects to on-time, on-budget completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Two years or more of branch-level management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR.
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises installation and modernization superintendents and staff with direction and policy enforcement.
• Administers safety program; conducts weekly safety audits and reinforces safety culture.
• Plans and prioritizes elevator installations and modernization, including manpower and scheduling tools.
• Reviews job status using accounting reports to identify risks and opportunities; reports fade issues.
• Manages sites from survey to completion; troubleshoots issues with mechanics and reviews progress with customers.
• Manages subcontractor schedule and performance on turnkey projects.
• Maintains relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and architects.
• Signs off on bids; participates in pre-bid meetings and provides labor/material cost input.
• Reviews change orders, purchase orders, and other approvals; ensures compliance with SOPs.
• Keeps up-to-date with federal, state, and local elevator industry codes and SOPs.

Education

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field

Two years' experience managing at a branch level

Elevator industry knowledge & management methods

Valid driver’s license

Ability to interpret technical instructions
