Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education Teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. The role focuses on delivering inclusive instruction for elementary students and English language learners, guided by district goals and state frameworks.

The teacher will develop IEP-aligned goals, provide targeted instruction, and regularly report progress.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8 and either SEI Endorsement or ESL license for the appropriate grade level.
• Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching as outlined by Boston Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum in an inclusive setting with Special Needs students and English Language Learners (SEI).
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
• Write and implement goals and objectives aligned to IEPs and report progress regularly.
• Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and analyze student work for MCAS Alternative Assessment progress.
• Collaborate with school staff to respond to student needs for modification.

Bachelor’s degree

Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6

Moderate Disabilities PK-8

SEI Endorsement OR ESL license

Authorization to work in the United States
