Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This role emphasizes high expectations, equity in access to instruction, and closing achievement gaps within Boston Public Schools.

Reports To: Principal/Head of School. Responsibilities include teaching elementary general curriculum with SEI, writing IEP goals, and collaborating with staff to support diverse learners in an inclusive

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8 with SEI Endorsement or ESL license for the grade level.
  • Must meet state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States by the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Elementary General Curriculum in a setting inclusive of students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
  • Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to progress in the general curriculum.
  • Write and implement goals and IEPs and provide regular progress reports on student development.
  • Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and analyze student work for MCAS Alternative Assessment progress.
  • Collaborate with staff to support student needs and modifications.
