Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This is an anticipated vacancy expected to be vacant by 09/02/2026.

The role involves teaching Elementary General Curriculum to a setting inclusive of students with Special Needs and English Language Learners, with responsibilities for IEPs, progress reports, and collaboration to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8.
• Meet state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum to a setting inclusive of students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to ensure progress in the general curriculum.
• Write and implement goals and objectives in student IEPs and provide progress reports.
• Provide accommodations and, if needed, develop curriculum and MCAS Alternative Assessment prep.
• Collaborate with team members to support student needs for modification.
