Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services in Illinois is seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead instruction for elementary students with IEPs in our alternative education setting. The role emphasizes individualized learning, collaboration with families, and alignment to state standards.

You will implement differentiated instruction, PBIS, and data-driven progress reporting while building a supportive, inclusive classroom. Starting salary $60,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• IL professional educator (PEL) credential or in process.
• IL Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) credential or in process.
• Experience with IEPs and special education services.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver targeted instruction and create comprehensive lesson plans.
• Differentiate instruction and work in co-teaching environments.
• Maintain progress documents and reports detailing student achievements.
• Implement PBIS and school-wide behavior expectations.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
