Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This long-term substitute position starts 10-07-2026 and ends 04-05-2027, with per diem pay for the duration.

Reports To: Principal/Head of School. You will teach Elementary General Curriculum to diverse learners, develop IEP goals, collaborate with staff, and support English Language Learners while upholding high expectations and

Qualifications

Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 AND Moderate Disabilities PK-8 AND either SEI Endorsement OR ESL license for the appropriate grade level.
Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Boston Public Schools.

Responsibilities

Teach Elementary General Curriculum for students including SEI and those with diverse needs.
Provide small‑group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
Write and implement IEP goals and provide progress reports on student development.
Provide accommodations for learning and testing; prepare for MCAS Alternative Assessment as needed.
Collaborate within the school to support other staff and student needs.
