Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of learners and leaders. This long-term substitute position starts immediately and ends 11/30/26, with per diem pay and a focus on providing inclusive instruction for diverse learners.

The role requires MA Elementary 1-6 licensure with SEI or ESL endorsement, plus experience in adapting instruction for students with disabilities and English Language Learners.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 with SEI or ESL endorsement.
• Fully licensed and Highly Qualified per state guidelines.
• Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary general curriculum for students with special needs and English learners (SEI).
• Implement district goals and identify access points for student portfolios.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe delays.
• Write and monitor IEP goals and provide progress reports.
• Provide accommodations; develop curriculum and analyze work for MCAS Alternative assessments.
• Collaborate with staff to respond to student needs and modifications.
