The ideal candidate will teach Elementary General Curriculum with SEI students and will collaborate with a team to implement district and state goals. Strong assessment, IEP development, and inclusive instruction are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 and Moderate Disabilities PK-8 with SEI or ESL endorsement.
• Must meet standards of effective teaching and be authorized to work in the United States by start date.
• Experience teaching in urban schools is preferred.
• Highly Qualified status per Boston Public Schools standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum including students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
• Implement district goals aligned with state frameworks and identify access points for portfolio development.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays; monitor progress in the general curriculum.
• Develop and implement IEPs and provide timely progress reports on student development.
• Provide accommodations and, if needed, develop curriculum and MCAS Alternative Assessment prep.
• Collaborate with staff to support student needs for modification.
