Job summary

South Washington County Schools seeks a Lunchroom/Recess Paraprofessional at Crestview Elementary School. This role provides large-group supervision during lunch and recess, enforcing behavioral guidelines and ensuring student safety.

Starting pay is $21.93 per hour with a potential $0.50 increase when Highly Qualified status is achieved. The position follows the school calendar, with duties including classroom support, transport of students, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise large groups of children (up to 130).
• Current certification in first aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize students with and enforce behavior guidelines during lunch/recess.
• Develop positive relationships with students to support learning and self-concept.
• Maintain positive relationships with kitchen and building staff to ensure a respectful environment.
• Escort students to lunchroom, restrooms, and nurse's office as needed.
• Provide on-site conflict resolution and refer incidents to the principal.
