Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time teacher in Ohio to share the gospel within public school classrooms, applying LifeWise curriculum and building positive relationships with students. The ideal candidate is an active church member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a caring, perceptive approach.

You will complete initial and ongoing training, maintain class records, and engage with schools and volunteers while promoting LifeWise’s missions in all duties.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in either a school or church setting
• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the 'What We Believe' section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Complete Initial and Ongoing Training — complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of start date
• Teach LifeWise Classes using the LifeWise curriculum and customize as needed
• Invest in connecting with students through relationships and prayer
• Cultivate an organized, encouraging classroom environment with redemptive teaching strategies
• Maintain records: attendance, rosters, health notes and permissions
• Maintain the classroom: keep it clean and well-ordered, plan for emergencies
• Communicate: engage with schools, volunteers and program director, share updates and stories
