Job summary

Police Athletic League (PAL) in New York City seeks COMPASS School Program Directors to lead afterschool programming embedded within NYC public schools or PAL Centers. You will supervise on-site staff, coordinate with school partners and community organizations, and ensure SEL, mental health, and inclusion policies are implemented.

Qualified candidates bring 4+ years supervisory experience with youth, strong communication, and willingness to travel to PAL locations across the five boroughs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or NYS credential with 2+ years of youth work under 13.
• Two years of direct experience working with youth under 13.
• Supervisory experience in program management and staff development.
• Bilingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese preferred; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Foster social and emotional competencies and well-being in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Oversee PAL Elementary School Afterschool Programming and mental health support.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise part-time staff and specialists.
• Ensure compliance with PAL policies, SACC regulations, and funding obligations.
