Job summary

Police Athletic League, Inc. in New York City is seeking an Assistant Director to lead afterschool and school-based programming, ensuring safe, inclusive, and high-quality youth development across PAL sites.

The role reports to the Program Director and requires strong leadership, program management, and collaboration with NYPD, DYCD, DOH, NYCPS, and community partners. Occasional evenings and weekends are expected to support PAL initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, or evaluation.
• Knowledge of DYCD Connect preferred and Microsoft Office skills required.
• Ability to travel to PAL locations across the five boroughs for training.

Responsibilities

• Foster safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for youth.
• Coordinate PAL afterschool programming and mental health supports.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise part-time staff and specialists.
• Ensure alignment with PAL policies, SACC regulations, and funding contracts.
• Develop Youth Development culture and provide training and coaching on SEL and inclusion.
