Job summary

The Police Athletic League, Inc. in New York City seeks an Assistant Director to oversee PAL’s school- and center-based programs, including afterschool and SEL initiatives, across NYC sites.

You will supervise staff, partner with schools, and advance youth development outcomes. Reporting to the Program Director, you’ll manage day, evening, and weekend programming, ensure compliance with regulations, and help expand PAL’s impact across five boroughs.

Qualifications

• Background in youth development with program management and staff supervision.
• Experience with evening/weekend programming and multi-site operations.
• Knowledge of DYCD Connect preferred; strong communication skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster safe, inclusive environments and supervise afterschool programming.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise part-time staff and activity specialists.
• Ensure compliance with SACC regulations, contracts, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with NYPD, DYCD, DOH, and school partners to expand programming.
• Plan citywide activities and events; provide data-driven program insights.
