We are seeking an experienced Electronic Billing Manager to co-lead and oversee electronic billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the billing lifecycle. This position is ideal for a proactive leader with strong problem-solving abilities, extensive legal billing experience, and expertise in electronic billing platforms. As the Electronic Billing Manager, you will play a critical role in managing electronic billing operations and leading a team of billing specialists. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, and internal departments to ensure invoices are processed accurately, comply with client billing guidelines, and are submitted in a timely manner. This role requires a strong balance of leadership, technical expertise, financial analysis, and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Billing Operations Management
- Oversee the electronic billing process from invoice generation through submission and payment tracking.
- Review e-bill submissions for accuracy and compliance with client-specific billing requirements.
- Monitor billing workflows and address submission issues promptly.
- Ensure timely generation, distribution, and resolution of invoices.
Team Leadership
- Co-manage and mentor a team of billing professionals.
- Provide guidance on billing discrepancies, rejections, and appeals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Assist with workflow prioritization and performance management.
Client & Attorney Support
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and internal departments regarding billing matters.
- Resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to promote client satisfaction.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and analyze billing and revenue reports.
- Track key performance indicators and revenue trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and operational efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to client billing guidelines and internal policies.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with legal billing standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
Required Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of billing experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Prior experience managing or supervising billing personnel.
- Demonstrated expertise in electronic billing systems and processes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Or a related field
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency with Elite 3E billing software (required).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with financial reporting and billing analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of electronic billing platforms and client billing guidelines.
