  • Oversee the daily operations of the billing department, including workload distribution and team performance.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of billing specialists and coordinators.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and submission of client invoices.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex billing issues and client inquiries.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, partners, and business leaders to ensure adherence to client billing guidelines and outside counsel requirements.
  • Monitor billing workflows, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement best practices.
  • Review and analyze billing metrics, aging reports, write-offs, and collection trends.
  • Maintain compliance with firm policies and client-specific billing arrangements.
  • Support month-end and year-end billing close processes.
  • Assist with system enhancements, process automation initiatives, and billing software optimization.

A well-established professional services organization is seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead its billing operations team. This position is responsible for overseeing the full billing cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client billing requirements, driving process improvements, and managing a team of billing professionals.

  • Knowledge of LEDES billing formats and electronic billing systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and billing/accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
