Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power in San Diego, CA, seeks a skilled Assembler to perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly at unit and module levels. You will read blueprints, assemble components, and inspect subassemblies using specialized tooling and fixtures.

The role includes potential overtime on weekends and a 2nd shift schedule (Mon–Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM). The position requires 3–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read various measuring

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years related experience as an assembler.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong ability to read assembly blueprints and work instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools (torque wrench, drills, inspection tools).
• Ability to read rulers, tape measures, and scales.
• Effective communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components to final configured product using drawings, bills of materials, tooling, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and operation sheets; suggest process improvements.
• Perform rework from test failures and incorporate ECNs into boards as needed.
• Mount electronic components, hand-solder boards, and rework circuits.
• Verify product quality at set intervals and ensure accuracy of work.
• Provide training/support to junior assemblers when required.
• Operate material handling equipment and setup machines per documentation.
• Meet productivity and quality standards; follow lead's instructions.
