Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power is seeking an Assembler in San Diego, CA to perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly at unit and module level using drawings, blueprints and process instructions. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to procedures, with opportunities to learn ECNs and support rework as needed.

The position is on the 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, with overtime as required. A high school diploma and 3–5 years related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of related experience in assembly.
• Must possess good to excellent assembly blueprint reading experience/skills.
• Must be able to use hand tools (torque wrench, drills and inspection tools).
• Ability to read measuring devices including rulers, tape measures, and scales.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Basic computer skills.
• Legal right to work in the U.S. and access export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Observes all safety regulations including PPE.
• Assemble components to a final configured product using instructions, drawings, tooling, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, parts lists, and operation sheets; recommend process improvements.
• Perform rework from test failures per standard repair procedures; may incorporate ECNs.
• Assemble and solder components onto circuit boards and rework boards as needed.
• Verify quality at required intervals and ensure accuracy of all work.
• Assist lower-level assemblers as required.
• Operate machines and read engineering documents in layout and process worksheets.
• Meet productivity and quality standards; follow lead’s instructions.
