Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power Business Unit, based in San Diego, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead multiple product-based manufacturing cells, focusing on safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost.

The role involves hands-on assembly/test of programmable power supply chassis and PCB modules, adherence to ISO 9001/EHS, and collaboration across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to achieve targets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing operations with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in electromechanical assembly and test.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with leadership presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily direction and leadership to 2nd shift production team (Assemblers, Operators, Technicians).
• Collaborate with 1st shift leaders to set priorities and report on safety, quality, delivery.
• Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality to meet customer needs.
• Drive KPI performance for revenue, on-time delivery, first pass yield, and overtime; implement corrective actions.
• Perform hands-on assembly/testing when required.
• Support Lean Daily Management and continuous improvement activities (6S, Gemba, Leader Standard Work).
• Ensure cross-training, inventory accuracy, and equipment maintenance.
