Electro Mechanical Technician

Major Responsibilities:

1. Perform with limited supervision the following:

• Mechanical: repair, rebuild, install, construct, and maintain equipment used in the facility, including welding, lubricating, cleaning, inspecting, evaluating, plumbing, painting, and general construction. Capable of evaluating the operating condition of all equipment in the facility.
• Building: renovations, modifications, construction, and inspection.
• Electrical: minor electrical repairs, motor hook-ups.
• Preventative Maintenance: lubrication, record keeping, and equipment monitoring.
• Operating hand trucks, pickup trucks, and forklifts.
• Maintaining parts and supply inventory.
• Communicating with necessary personnel about maintenance-related issues affecting plant activities.
• Gathering relevant data from appropriate sources.
• Analyzing impact of decisions before execution.
• Recognizing problems and enlisting assistance when necessary.
• Assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly workplace by exhibiting proper housekeeping practices.
• Recognizing safety hazards related to the position and working to maintain a safe work environment for all plant employees.
• Performing other duties as assigned due to short-term, unforeseen manufacturing needs.

Special Skills Required:

• Strong mechanical and electrical abilities.
• Full working knowledge of shop hand tools and their uses.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with others.
• Physical capability for medium to heavy work, including frequent lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs., and occasional climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, as well as frequent standing and walking.
• Successful completion of Saputo's Pasteurization training within the first week, and obtaining a pasteurization certificate within 12 months.

This is a 12-hour night shift schedule: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Starting Range: $33.66/hour - $35.66/hour + $1.00 Night Shift Differential

Hourly offers vary based on experience, education, skills, and training.
