Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Electrification Systems Sr. Engineering Team Lead to shape next‑gen electrified power systems for Power and Energy customers. You will define requirements and influence architecture across divisions to deliver practical, scalable solutions.

The role requires strong leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to persuade stakeholders on new technologies and system-level approaches. Located in Mossville, IL, on‑site with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Experience in powertrain, drivetrain, or electrified system development.
• Experience with NPI, requirements management, and FMEA-based development.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and navigate ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture definition for electric powertrain and hybrid projects across market segments.
• Translate market needs into application requirements for power conversion, battery packs, inverters, and energy storage.
• Own product and interface requirements, and manage cost-value tradeoffs from concept through NPI.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and sourcing to guide high‑level decisions.
• Communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders and influence outcomes.
