Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Design Engineering Specialist in Mossville, IL to lead the integration and delivery of advanced power electronics for large mining trucks.
You will coordinate electrical, mechanical, thermal, software and manufacturing teams to move complex electrified products from concept to production. The role emphasizes system-level ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment with engineering quality processes and supplier readiness.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field.
- Experience leading complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Knowledge of design validation, risk management and product development.
Responsibilities
- Lead integration of large power electronics cabinets for mining equipment.
- Coordinate electrical, mechanical, thermal, software and manufacturing activities.
- Develop system architectures and integration plans.
- Drive design reviews, risk management and issue resolution.
- Align interfaces between modules, cooling, controls, HV distribution and diagnostics.
- Coordinate prototype builds, validation, and production launch activities.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for production readiness.
