Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer - Design - Electrification to lead design and development of high-efficiency power electronics. You will guide concept creation, development plans, and simulations, coordinating across engineering teams.

Travel to sites and suppliers is required. The role demands a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and experience with DC/AC/DC converters, schematics tools, and circuit simulations.

Qualifications

• Requires master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years in electrical design.
• Experience with schematics and converter design for high-efficiency, high-reliability applications.
• Proficiency in circuit simulations (Matlab/Simulink, PSpice, LTspice or PSIM).
• Knowledge of power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs; SiC/GaN).
• Familiarity with NEC, EPA, SAE J1995, OSHA, IEC, ROHS and UL standards.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and provide practical product design applications using complex technical principles.
• Lead and coordinate design, analysis, and computer simulation efforts.
• Prepare development plans and ensure schedules are met.
• Travel to Caterpillar plants, dealers, and customer job sites up to 10%.
