Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Electrification Systems Sr. Engineering Team Lead in Mossville, IL. You will shape next-generation electrified power systems, define requirements, and influence architectures supporting multiple market segments, including defense and industrial applications.

You will lead cross-functional teams, own system requirements, and apply knowledge of battery systems, inverters, and high-voltage integration to drive architecture decisions and successful NPI execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Extensive experience in powertrain, drivetrain, or electrified system development.
Experience with new product introduction, requirements management, and FMEA-based product development.
Experience with powertrain or drivetrain development for mechanical, hybrid, or battery-electric systems.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture for electric powertrain and hybrid projects across multiple market segments.
Translate customer needs into requirements for power conversion, battery packs, inverters, motors, chargers, and energy storage.
Own product interface requirements and cost-value tradeoffs from concept through NPI.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and purchasing to make high-level decisions.
Ensure alignment across cross-functional teams on technology directions.
