NACCO Industries, Inc. is offering a Welder / Maintenance Mechanic Intern position in Underwood, ND.

This internship is designed for students pursuing an associate or technical degree, with programs running May 2027 through August or December 2027 and a starting rate of $33.20 per hour. Interns will learn to operate boom and welding trucks, forklifts, perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and fabricate parts.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited welding or mechanical maintenance program and in good academic standing.
• Completed a portion of college in associated field and intends to complete the degree.
• Applicants need a valid driver’s license.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme weather and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting, routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on draglines, coal shovels and facilities.
• Read blueprints and fabricate parts as needed.
• Work in compliance with MSHA safety rules and regulations.
