Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on power systems up to 500kV. You will analyze test results, document findings, and support multi-discipline project teams across regional assignments.

Qualified candidates have NETA Level III/IV, 7+ years of HV testing experience, proficiency with test equipment, and the ability to read schematics. Travel up to 75% is expected; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards and test equipment.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures in time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field and lead project teams.
