Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. You will conduct studies, test relays, and analyze results for comprehensive reports.

Ideal candidates hold NETA III/IV, 7+ years of HV testing, and strong diagram reading skills, with readiness to travel regionally up to 75% and raise quality across multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficient with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, breakers.
• Interpret results and author reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety requirements.
