Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing with NETA Level III/IV certification to lead acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing of electrical power systems up to 500 kV. Candidates will conduct power system studies, test protective relays, and document findings in detailed reports.

Role requires 7+ years of hands-on high voltage testing, strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing (or equivalent).
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; write engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
