Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on power systems up to 500kV. You will analyze test data, generate detailed reports, and guide technicians on site.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficient with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong protection relay understanding and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analyses.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret results and write comprehensive engineering reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
