Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to support regional and national projects across high‑voltage environments. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV and lead troubleshooting in time‑critical scenarios.

This full‑time role requires NETA certification, 7+ years of HV testing experience, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF, and equivalents.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
