Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance on high-voltage power systems. You will conduct power studies, test protective relays, and prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.

Applicants should hold NETA III/IV, have 7+ years of HV testing, and be willing to travel regionally. A valid driver’s license is required; comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Ability to read/interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; write reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on projects.
• Ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
