Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The role centers on acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing of electrical power systems up to 500kV and involves up to 75% travel to regional and national projects.

You will conduct studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality), test relays, and interpret results while mentoring junior technicians. A strong certification and extensive field experience are essential.

Qualifications

• NETA III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Proficiency with test equipment and relay coordination.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; willing to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret results and write comprehensive engineering reports with recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex failures in time-critical conditions and mentor Level I/II technicians.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams and ensure safety compliance.
