Job summary

Vertiv Corporation in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. You will lead tests, analyze results, and generate detailed reports while traveling regionally up to 75% on diverse project assignments.

The role requires NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of HV testing experience, and a strong knowledge of MTS/ATS standards; a valid driver's license is mandatory.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification and in good standing
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based)
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers
• Interpret test results and write comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-sensitive conditions
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety requirements
