Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems up to 500kV. You will conduct studies, test protective relays, and provide detailed engineering reports while mentoring junior technicians in a fast-paced, travel-heavy role.

The position requires 7+ years of experience, NETA certification, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficient with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams.
