Job summary

Modular Mission Critical, the manufacturing campus for M.C. Dean’s modular product line, is seeking an Electrical Tester to install, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems nationwide from locations in and around Richmond, VA.

The role emphasizes safety, diagnostics, and collaboration with engineers and project teams. Qualified candidates have 4+ years electrical experience or equivalent education, familiarity with high voltage testing, and the ability to interpret schematics

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with protective relaying and metering testing in transmission and distribution environments.
• Knowledge of medium/high-voltage systems up to 500kV.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret test results to locate faulty equipment.
• Use test equipment in energized electrical rooms, vaults, and substations safely.
• Coordinate testing and repairs with other department personnel.
• Maintain detailed test reports and documentation for clients.
• Participate in emergency call outs and special projects as needed.
