Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a field service technician responsible for installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a high school diploma or related degree.
• Valid/active U.S. Work Authorization.
• Willingness to travel 25–75% domestically and internationally.
• NETA/NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with protective relaying and metering test equipment (Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, Fluke).

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering.
• Analyze test results and interpret electrical diagrams to locate faults.
• Coordinate testing, troubleshooting, and repairs with other departments.
• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing per NETA standards.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to ensure efficient commissioning.
