Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician to lead inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and start-up of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment both in the field and shop environments.

The role requires travel locally, regionally, and nationally; international travel is preferred.Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of electrical experience, familiarity with safety standards, and the ability to read schematics and use complex test equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of electrical experience with a HS diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Experience testing transformers, switchgear, breakers and relays.
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in-house.
• Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and other electrical apparatus.
• Contain material costs by eliminating waste and implementing controls.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies.
• Promote continuous improvement and teamwork.
