Job summary

M. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician to lead inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment in field and shop settings.

The role requires traveling locally and regionally, with international travel preferred for certain projects. You will interpret schematics, operate advanced test equipment, and ensure safety standards across ANSI/IEEE/NETA/NFPA/OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
• NETA/NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical testing.
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in-house, ensuring complete documentation from receipt to invoice.
• Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and other electrical apparatus.
• Contain material costs by eliminating wasteful practices and implementing control measures.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
• Promote continuous improvement and teamwork in the project environment.
