Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking an experienced Engineer to provide technical engineering, design, economic and analytical support for long-range system plans and engineering requests. The role emphasizes technical decision-making and leadership, with potential shift work.

You will prepare plans, analyses and verifications, ensure compliance with standards, and interface with customers and management to meet project objectives, budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited or IEA-recognized institution will be required.
• Five (5) years of engineering-related experience.
• Engineering degree from an accredited College of Engineering program.
• A relevant Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Equivalency may be considered per program curriculum and approval by Engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares engineering plans, designs, analyses, specifications and cost estimates.
• Ensures compliance with design, regulatory, operating and maintenance requirements.
• Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers.
• Interfaces with customers and other departments to meet project objectives, budget and schedule.
• Presents results of designs and studies to management and customers.
• May oversee engineering programs and coordinate corrective actions to maintain health of programs.
