Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Substation Engineer-in-Training in Jackson, MI to contribute to the design of substation layouts, protection, grounding, and schematics. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) and may require FE exam take in the near term.

The position is onsite with a collaborative design team, offering growth opportunities and a path toward professional licensure while integrating with multiple disciplines within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Up to 2 years of experience.
• Must have passed FE Exam or will be taking the FE Exam within the next 6 months of being hired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be able to work legally in the United States for any length of time.

Responsibilities

• Design substation physical layouts, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans, grounding analysis and design.
• Generate single and three-line schematic diagrams, panel wiring, DC schematics, and control building/relay panel layouts.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics disciplines; work as part of a design team.
