Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Substation Engineer-in-Training to join our Jackson, MI team for designing substations, layouts, grounding, and protective schemes. You will create schematics and control layouts while coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.

We require a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited), up to 2 years’ experience, and FE exam progress or completion within 6 months. Excellent communication and MS Office skills are essential for this onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Up to 2 years of experience.
• FE Exam passed or to be taken within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Eligible to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design substation physical layouts, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans.
• Conduct grounding analysis and design.
• Generate single- and three-line schematic diagrams, panel wiring, DC schematics.
• Layout control building and relay panel designs and lighting.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, transmission line, and graphics disciplines.
• Collaborate as part of a design team; may be assigned to multiple projects.
