Job summary

CoVolt Power seeks an Engineer 1 - Electrical at our Albany, NY office to design LV/HV/EHV power systems and substation projects. You’ll collaborate with engineers and drafters on detailed electrical and physical designs and provide construction support.

The role involves developing protection diagrams, BOMs, cable schedules, and coordinating drawings. NEC/IEEE knowledge preferred; travel ~10% and ability to lift 15 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEEE codes and standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design LV/HV/EHV electrical power systems and substations.
• Develop single-line switching and protection diagrams; three-line and DC schematics.
• Prepare BOMs, cable and conduit schedules, and device ratings.
• Coordinate drawings and provide engineering design and construction support.
