Job summary

CoVolt Power seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer Manager in Albany, NY to lead teams spanning LV to EHV systems and to drive design, procurement support, construction coordination, and commissioning across high voltage projects.

The role requires PE licensure, 10+ years in transmission/distribution design, and 5+ years in leadership. You will mentor staff, manage client relationships, and ensure adherence to IEEE, NESC, NEC, and NERC standards.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required; PE licensed in one or more US states.
10+ years in electrical engineering with emphasis on transmission/ distribution substation design 34.5 kV–500 kV.
5+ years leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering teams for substation and transmission projects across utility, renewable energy, industrial, and commercial sectors.
Oversee lifecycle from conceptual design through commissioning and documentation.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NERC, and related codes.
Mentor engineering staff and support succession planning and training.
Support proposal development, budgeting, and client relationships.
