Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Staff Engineer to support interconnection and design of EV charging facilities and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities.

You will coordinate with project leads and senior engineers, oversee interns and drafters, and ensure firm standards are met across projects. You will perform electrical design, create construction documents, and run short circuit, load flow, and voltage drop studies while staying current with industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering program.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements.
• Knowledge and proficiency in the use of an electrical power system modeling program(s).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to read and create service/interconnection packages, construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical engineering portions of EV charging facilities and energy storage projects.
• Review utility service/interconnection requirements and assemble technical portions of interconnection applications.
• Coordinate with civil, geotechnical/structural engineers and surveyors.
• Perform electrical design and create construction documents.
• Conduct electrical calculations and studies such as short circuit, load flow and voltage drop.
• Maintain awareness of equipment and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with and support teams in other offices as workload requires.
